Sunday, April 27th | 12-1:30 PM
Earth Day Clean Ups are co-hosted by the SCPNA Climate Action Committee and Executive Committee and there are two opportunities to participate:
1) Saturday, April 26th, 10-11:30 AM - This event will take place in City Park and will start and end on the park side of the traffic light at Steele and 17th Ave. If you plan to borrow materials for the clean up, you must start and end at this location at the stated times.
2) Sunday, April 27th, 12-1:30 PM - This event will be hosted in partnership with our neighborhood Girl Scout Troop and will take place in City Park. The event will start and end on the park side of the traffic light at Steele and 17th Ave. If you plan to borrow materials for the clean up, you must start and end at this location at the stated times.
Those who participate in City Park clean ups will need to sign a waiver provided by Denver Parks & Recreation. If you sign up for these dates, you must review the volunteer guidelines and bring a signed copy of this waiver for each participant to the meeting location.
In order to be prepared for the number of people that will join each event, please click to RSVP by April 24th.
If you have any questions about the events or this registration form, please contact Ellen Roth, President of SCPNA at southcitypark@gmail.com
If neither of these times work for you - we welcome you to organize your own clean up! Get a group of neighbors together and tackle an alley or a street! If your event takes place on the 26th or 27th outside the organized times above, contact southcitypark@gmail.com to reserve some clean up supplies.

Recycling Hard-to-Recycle Items
April 26-27th
We are also offering recycling drop-off for hard-to-recycle items!
Here's what we can take at 1537 Monroe Street:
Plastic film - clean and stretch thin plastics, primarily HDPE (#2) and LDPE (#4) plastics. This includes ziplock bags, newspaper bags, produce bags, etc. In order to be properly recycled, remove any food residue and make sure it's dry.
Household batteries - all used household batteries: alkaline, hearing aid, rechargeable, and small lithium-ion batteries. Please tape battery terminals for safety, particularly 9-volt, lithium and any large batteries.
Lightbulbs - all household variety light bulbs: LEDs, CFLs, small fluorescent, and incandescent.
Paint recycling will be collected at 1551 Jackson Street:
Paint - both oil and latex paint, stain, and varnish are all accepted! At this time we are not accepting spray paint or paint thinner.
Note that we are NOT accepting items outside of the above things. Please do not leave anything not being collected for your neighbors who are kindly offering this opportunity to have to dispose of.
Plastic film, batteries, and lightbulbs can be dropped off on the front porch at 1537 Monroe Street - please place on the covered half of the porch behind the porch swing. Paint can be dropped of at 1551 Jackson Street near the front door along the fence.
Items are being collected between April 26th and 27th. Please refrain from dropping off anything outside of those dates.
